The Everest Mentor Flex+ is a configurable industrial video borescope for teams inspecting turbines, engines, machinery and other difficult internal areas. QuickChange probes let inspectors adapt one system to different access requirements, while TrueSight imaging provides the clarity needed to identify surface conditions. Real3D measurement supports dimensional defect evaluation directly from inspection data. With gravity-assisted navigation, guided workflows and InspectionWorks connectivity, Mentor Flex+ helps inspection teams capture, organize and report reliable findings without adding unnecessary equipment or steps.

Real3D turns visible indications into surfaced point-cloud data for more informed defect evaluation and disposition.
Optimized imaging up to 100°C can reduce waiting time before inspecting recently operated engines and equipment.
HDR, Dark Boost and Adaptive Noise Reduction improve visibility across reflective, dark and noisy inspection scenes.
Guided capture, automatic tagging and Inspection Works integration prevent valuable inspection data from becoming scattered or incomplete.
The shortened 6.1 mm camera head navigates tight bends where longer probe heads may restrict access.
The Everest Mentor Flex+ is an industrial video borescope built around interchangeable QuickChange probes. Teams can use 4.0 mm, 6.1 mm, or 6.2 mm probe configurations with one handset, then select forward-view, side-view, or measurement tips based on the access path and inspection requirement.
TrueSight image processing supports inspection in reflective, dark, and difficult scenes. Available controls include High Dynamic Range, Dark Boost, Adaptive Noise Reduction, distortion correction, color saturation, and Auto-Rotate. Image quality remains optimized at temperatures up to 100°C.
Creates a fully surfaced point cloud for sizing cracks, corrosion, wear, and other visible indications.
Push2IW transfers inspection files for centralized storage, collaboration, inspection history, and reporting.
The assembled system is rated IP65 and tested to MIL-STD-810H environmental requirements. Integrated Wi-Fi, HDMI, USB-C, and USB-A connections support file transfer, external displays, and connected inspection workflows.
One configurable platform can support varied access points, measurement needs, and inspection workflows without requiring a separate videoscope for every probe diameter or length.
Review the key specifications for configuring the Everest Mentor Flex+. Probe length, optical tip, field of view, depth of field, and measurement capability depend on the selected probe.
Select the probe diameter and insertion length around the access opening, inspection route and required working capability.
Available insertion lengths, optical tips and measurement options vary by selected probe diameter.
Inspect compressors, combustion areas and turbine sections through existing engine access ports.
Examine turbines, generators and internal power plant components without full equipment disassembly.
View internal conditions within pipes, vessels and heat exchangers where direct access is limited.
Check gearboxes, rotating equipment and internal assemblies for visible wear, damage or debris.
Inspect castings, welds and complex parts during production, maintenance or final quality review.
Locate and retrieve accessible debris with the 6.2 mm working channel probe and compatible tools.
The Mentor Flex VideoProbe was discontinued for new sales after the updated Mentor Flex+ became available. Flex+ builds on the previous-generation system with QuickChange probes, Real3D measurement, a 6.2 mm working channel and improved orientation tools. Existing Mentor Flex units may still remain suitable for their current inspection tasks.
Do not assume every probe, optical tip or accessory from the previous Mentor Flex is compatible with Flex+. Compatibility may vary by diameter, connection and component generation. Share your existing part numbers with AIT before ordering so the team can confirm what can be reused and what needs to be replaced.
An upgrade makes sense when the previous model limits probe choice, defect measurement or retrieval work. Mentor Flex+ accepts different QuickChange probes, adds surfaced Real3D measurement and supports a 6.2 mm working channel. If your current system still covers every application, AIT can help determine whether upgrading provides enough practical value.
Not necessarily. The benefit is that you can configure the system around current work without closing off future needs. A basic probe can handle routine viewing, while Real3D tips, alternate probe sizes or the working channel can be added when an inspection requires measurement, tighter access or retrieval.
A fixed-probe system ties the handset to one diameter and length. When access conditions change, you may need another system or must stop the inspection. QuickChange probes let Mentor Flex+ adapt to different routes while keeping the same handset, interface and data workflow.
It can reduce one source of delay. The system maintains optimized imaging at temperatures up to 100°C, allowing some inspections to begin sooner than equipment with lower temperature limits. Cooling requirements still depend on the asset, inspection procedure, probe limits and site safety rules.
With a fixed-probe system, probe damage may remove the entire unit from service. Mentor Flex+ uses interchangeable QuickChange probes, so a compatible backup probe can be attached and the inspection can continue. Keeping a backup is an operational choice, but the modular design gives teams that option.
