Warranty Policy
AIT Products, LLC d/b/a Advanced Inspection Technologies
Revision 2026-08 | Effective August 22, 2026
This policy forms part of AIT's Standard Terms of Sale and should be read alongside them. If anything in this policy conflicts with the Standard Terms of Sale, the Standard Terms of Sale control.
Limited Warranty
AIT warrants goods manufactured by AIT to be free from defects in material and workmanship, under normal use and for the purpose for which they were designed and intended, for the greater of the manufacturer's warranty period or one (1) year from the date of original invoice.
Used, refurbished, and B-stock equipment carries a ninety (90) day warranty.
Products manufactured by others are not independently warranted by AIT. Such products carry the original manufacturer's limited warranty, which AIT supports and passes through to the purchaser, or assists the purchaser in obtaining, to the extent AIT is authorized to do so.
Repairs performed by AIT carry a ninety (90) day warranty on the specific repair performed and on replacement parts supplied by AIT in connection with that repair.
Warranty repair or replacement does not restart or extend the original warranty period. A repaired or replacement component is covered for the longer of the remainder of the original applicable warranty period or ninety (90) days after shipment of that component.
Sole Remedy
AIT's obligation under this limited warranty is confined to repair or replacement, at AIT's sole discretion, of any part or parts determined by AIT to be defective. This is the customer's sole and exclusive remedy.
If AIT determines that repair and replacement are both commercially impracticable, AIT may instead issue a refund or credit of the amount paid for the defective product.
Whether a condition is covered by this limited warranty is determined by AIT after examination of the returned item at AIT's facility, using reasonable commercial judgment and the applicable product specifications, operating limits, maintenance requirements, and warranty exclusions.
Warranty Claims
Warranty claims must be pre-authorized by AIT before return and require a valid RMA number. Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact AIT immediately if an item is defective, damaged, or incorrect so we can evaluate the issue. To request authorization, email support@aitproducts.com or call +1 (321) 610-8977.
Equipment sent to AIT for warranty evaluation travels at the customer's risk in both directions.
What Is Not Covered
Excluded from this limited warranty, and not warranted by AIT in any fashion, whether express, implied, or by statute, are:
- Products not sold by AIT
- Products manufactured by others, except to the extent of the original manufacturer's warranty described above
- Any product that has been damaged, disassembled, repaired, tampered with, altered, changed, or modified by anyone other than AIT
- Defects or damage resulting from wear and tear, misuse, negligence, accident, abuse, sand, liquids, impact, improper storage, unauthorized repair, or non-performance of scheduled operator and maintenance items
- Use of non-recommended accessories, consumables, or supplies
- Damage or degradation from radiation exposure, except where the applicable product documentation expressly states a radiation tolerance and the customer establishes, with contemporaneous dose records, that the documented exposure limits were not exceeded
- Failure or damage from use outside the documented environmental operating conditions for the specific product
- Damage resulting from exceeding published operating limits, including minimum bend radii in use and in storage
- Damage resulting from improper equipment usage or improper interpretation of product test data
- Liquid or immersion damage, except where the applicable product is expressly rated for immersion or liquid exposure and was used within that documented rating
- Consumable items, expendable items, and items subject to normal wear
- Software, firmware, and third-party applications, except to the extent expressly covered by an applicable written license or warranty
Disclaimer
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. THERE IS NO IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND NO IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ON ANY ITEM OR SERVICE SOLD BY AIT.
IT COVERS ALL OBLIGATIONS AND LIABILITIES ON AIT'S PART, AND AIT NEITHER ASSUMES NOR AUTHORIZES ANY OTHER PERSON OR ENTITY TO ASSUME ANY LIABILITY REGARDING THE SALE OF AIT EQUIPMENT.
USED, REFURBISHED, AND B-STOCK EQUIPMENT IS SOLD IN ITS EXISTING CONDITION. EXCEPT FOR THE NINETY (90) DAY WARRANTY ABOVE, SUCH EQUIPMENT CARRIES NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
Not Transferable
This limited warranty accrues to the original purchaser only and cannot be assigned or transferred to any third party without AIT's express written consent.
Suitability, Environmental Ratings, and Safety
Documented ratings only. Only an environmental capability or rating expressly stated in AIT's or the original manufacturer's published product specifications, AIT's quotation, order acknowledgment, or approved design documentation applies to the goods. Except for a capability so documented, AIT makes no representation that any product is suitable for radiation, immersion, vacuum, cryogenic, high-temperature, explosive, corrosive, or chemically reactive environments, or for medical, life-support, or safety-critical use.
Ratings originate with the manufacturer. Environmental ratings, including radiation-tolerance figures, are the published values of the original manufacturer. AIT passes them through as received and does not independently test, verify, certify, or re-qualify them. AIT's obligation with respect to a third-party product's rating is limited to passing through whatever remedy the manufacturer provides.
General suitability. The customer is solely responsible for determining that the goods are suitable for its application, environment, and regulatory context. The goods are inspection instruments. They are not a substitute for engineering judgment, and AIT has no liability for any decision made or not made on the basis of an inspection performed with them, or for any interpretation of inspection data.
Radiation Environments and Contamination
A radiation tolerance is a test value, not a service life. A stated radiation tolerance is a typical or nominal figure obtained under the manufacturer's specified test conditions — a particular source, energy, spectrum, dose rate, temperature, and geometry. It is not a guarantee of performance, accuracy, or survival under the customer's conditions and does not establish a service life. Radiation damage to optics, image sensors, and electronics is cumulative and progressive. Image degradation, darkening or browning of optical elements, increased noise, loss of sensitivity, and eventual failure are expected consequences of radiation exposure and are not defects in material or workmanship.
The customer is responsible for exposure. The customer is solely responsible for determining the dose rate and total integrated dose to which the goods have been and will be exposed, for tracking cumulative exposure across deployments, for determining the remaining useful life of goods used in a radiation field, and for confirming that a specific product, configuration, and accessory set is appropriate for the intended exposure. AIT has no knowledge of and no control over the customer's field conditions.
Instruments are not a radiation protection program. Dose-rate, contamination, and other radiological readings produced by goods supplied by AIT are provided for remote situational awareness only. They are not a substitute for calibrated personal dosimetry, survey instrumentation operated under a licensed radiation protection program, or the judgment of a qualified radiation protection professional. The customer is solely responsible for calibration and for verifying readings by independent means. Unless AIT expressly identifies a product in writing as designed and certified for such use, no product may be used as a primary life-safety device or as the sole basis for a personnel dose or entry decision.
Contaminated or activated equipment. The customer shall not return, ship, or deliver to AIT any equipment that is radiologically contaminated or activated, or that has been used in conditions under which it may have become contaminated or activated, without AIT's prior written authorization and a written statement of the equipment's radiological status. AIT may refuse receipt of, quarantine, or return at the customer's expense any equipment delivered in breach of this paragraph. The customer is responsible for decontamination and for all costs, fees, penalties, survey charges, and disposal charges AIT incurs in connection with contaminated or activated equipment, and for compliance with all applicable transport and licensing requirements. Equipment that cannot be decontaminated to AIT's satisfaction is non-returnable and non-serviceable, and the customer shall reimburse AIT for its disposal.
Field Service
If equipment cannot be returned to AIT for any reason and an AIT representative must make a warranty assessment in the field, the customer agrees to pay all travel and living expenses incurred by AIT, including all costs incurred in the course of making an evaluation, assessment, or warranty repair in the field. These charges are invoiced on the terms set out in our Payment & Credit Policy.
Limitation of Liability
AIT'S RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBLIGATIONS ARE STRICTLY LIMITED TO THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT COSTS DESCRIBED ABOVE. AIT WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DOWNTIME, OR DAMAGE TO THE ARTICLE OR SYSTEM BEING INSPECTED. See Section 13 of the Standard Terms of Sale.
Governing Law
This limited warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Florida and by the dispute resolution provisions of AIT's Standard Terms of Sale.
