Shipping & Delivery Policy

AIT Products, LLC d/b/a Advanced Inspection Technologies
Revision 2026-08  |  Effective August 22, 2026

This policy forms part of AIT's Standard Terms of Sale and should be read alongside them. If anything in this policy conflicts with the Standard Terms of Sale, the Standard Terms of Sale control.

Title and Risk of Loss

All shipments are FOB Origin, AIT's facility at 2020 W. Eau Gallie Blvd., Suite 101, Melbourne, Florida, freight collect, unless other arrangements are made in writing. Title and risk of loss pass to the customer upon delivery of the goods to the carrier.

It is the responsibility of the shipping carrier to deliver products safely. AIT cannot be held liable for the consequences of carrier mistakes, negligence, damage, delay, loss, or poor service. Once goods are tendered to the carrier, any claim for loss, theft, shortage, or damage in transit is the customer's claim against the carrier.

AIT will provide reasonable documentation to support a carrier claim at no charge. AIT has no obligation to replace, repair, credit, or re-ship goods lost or damaged in transit. Any replacement AIT chooses to make is a commercial accommodation, not an admission of liability.

Where goods are shipped directly from a manufacturer, the same terms apply from that manufacturer's facility.

Insurance

Shipments are not insured against transit loss unless the customer requests insurance in writing before shipment and pays the premium. Absent that written request, the customer accepts uninsured transit at its own risk. AIT recommends insured, trackable service for all shipments.

Carrier Accounts and Freight Charges

Orders ship freight collect on the customer's carrier account. Customers are encouraged to provide their own UPS, FedEx, or DHL account number, which places the carrier relationship, insurance election, and claim rights directly with the customer.

Shipping method Freight Handling fee
Customer's own carrier account (UPS, FedEx, DHL) Billed directly to customer None
AIT's carrier account, prepaid and added to invoice Varies by service level $15.00 per shipment
Other carrier or routing (written approval required) Varies Contact sales@aitproducts.com

If AIT prepays freight and adds it to the invoice, AIT does so solely as the customer's agent and does not thereby assume risk of loss. If the customer directs a specific carrier or routing, AIT has no liability arising from that carrier or routing.

Additional bank or currency conversion fees on wire payments are the customer's responsibility. Wire instructions and all accepted payment methods are set out in our Payment & Credit Policy.

Shipping Options and Cutoff

UPS is our preferred carrier; FedEx and DHL are available on a customer collect account. Expedited service is available for rush deliveries. A signature may be required upon delivery at the discretion of the carrier. Packages cannot be rerouted or picked up from the carrier.

Order cutoff for same-day shipping of in-stock items: 4:00 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday. Orders received after cutoff ship the next business day. Same-day shipping is limited to in-stock inventory warehoused at AIT's Melbourne facility. Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

In-Store Pickup

Customer pickup is available by prior arrangement for in-stock products, accessories, and completed repairs, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern, at our Melbourne facility. Title and risk of loss pass to the customer on release of the goods at our dock.

Delivery Times

All delivery dates are estimates only and are given in good faith. Time is not of the essence, and AIT does not accept liquidated damages, late-delivery penalties, or back-charges of any kind.

Delivery dates depend on carrier practices, destination, and the items ordered. Items not regularly stocked may take two to six weeks. Custom and made-to-order items have lead times established at quotation and confirmed at design review. Orders may be delivered in separate shipments. Tracking numbers issued during the day may not appear on the carrier's website until that evening.

All orders are subject to verification and approval. We will notify you by phone or email if your order is delayed.

Drop Shipments

On occasion, orders may ship directly from the manufacturer. These items generally take seven to ten business days to reach U.S. destinations. FOB Origin terms apply from the manufacturer's facility.

Delayed Delivery by the Customer

If a customer delays shipment or fails to take delivery, AIT may invoice the goods as of the date they are ready for shipment, with payment terms running from that date. Title and risk of loss pass on AIT's written notice that the goods are ready. AIT may store the goods at the customer's sole risk and expense.

Shipping Discrepancies

Claims that AIT shipped the wrong item or an incorrect quantity must be made in writing within five (5) business days of receipt, or they are waived. This does not apply to loss or damage in transit, which is a matter between the customer and the carrier under the Title and Risk of Loss section above.

International Shipments

AIT ships internationally to most countries. Credit cards are not accepted for international orders; wire transfer or another approved method is required. See our Payment & Credit Policy.

International customers are responsible for all duties, customs fees, import taxes, tariffs, brokerage fees, bank fees, currency conversion fees, and any other charges imposed by the destination country or financial institution. Customers are responsible for compliance with all import regulations in their country.

International shipments are subject to U.S. export control law, restricted-party screening, end-use review, and carrier limitations. See our Export Control section in the Standard Terms of Sale. AIT reserves the right to decline, delay, or cancel any international order that cannot be fulfilled in compliance with applicable law, carrier policy, manufacturer requirement, or export compliance considerations.

Supply Risk

Customers assume the risk of product supply unless otherwise agreed in writing. AIT is not responsible for delay or non-delivery caused by supplier allocation, shortage, discontinuation, or default, including single-source optical component suppliers, or by customer change requests, production scheduling, equipment failure, or unforeseen maintenance.

If a customer fails to honor its written payment commitments, AIT is released from its obligation to deliver. Credit terms are set out in our Payment & Credit Policy.

Sales Tax

Prices are exclusive of all taxes. Orders shipped within Florida are subject to Florida state and local sales tax, including on shipping charges. Customers claiming exemption must furnish a valid exemption certificate before invoicing. Customers are responsible for any tax later assessed against AIT on a transaction. Full tax terms are in our Payment & Credit Policy.
