minCord XL overview

The minCord XL is the long-cable version of the Rausch minCord: 100 ft (30 m) of flexible push cable, a 7 in. sunlight-readable screen, and the recorder and battery built into one rugged case that weighs about 15 lb (7 kg). Order it with the 13 mm KK13 head for tubes and drains from 0.6 in. (15 mm), or the 18 mm KK18 head for 1 in. to 5 in. lines. Either way it turns 90° bends from 1 in. (25 mm), so P-traps, elbows, and tube bends are inside its range.

Why the minCord XL

  • 100 ft (30 m) of cable in a case one person carries. Twice the reach of the minCord 5 without moving up to a reel system.
  • Choice of head. KK13 (13 mm) enters 0.6 in. (15 mm) bore for exchanger and boiler tubes; KK18 (18 mm) covers 1 in. to 5 in. drains and process lines.
  • 90° bends from 1 in. (25 mm). Pushes through P-traps and tight elbows in small lines.
  • 7 in. sunlight-readable screen with distance counter. Readable outdoors and in bright plant lighting.
  • Three-frequency sonde (33 kHz, 512 Hz, 640 Hz) in either head, compatible with standard pipe locators.

Frequently Asked Questions

KK13 or KK18: which head should I order?

Order the KK13 if you inspect tubes or lines under 1 in. (25 mm), such as exchanger and chiller tubes. Order the KK18 if your smallest line is 1 in. or larger; the larger head suits 1 in. to 5 in. drains and process pipe. Both fit the same unit, so a second head can be added later.

Is WiFi included?

WiFi and the Viewer app are an optional module. Without it the unit still records video and stills to SD card with the distance counter in the frame.

How is it different from the minCord 5?

The minCord XL has 100 ft of cable, a 7 in. screen, the KK18 head option, and the WiFi option. The minCord 5 has 50 ft, a 5 in. screen, and the KK13 head only, in a lighter unit.
