Videoscope Rented To Retrieve Objects From Transformer

AIT just completed the rental of a videoscope and retrieval tool to locate and remove foreign objects from inside a transformer. The objects were small and required a 6mm diameter videoscope to snake back into the area were to foreign material was located. Several retrieval tools were also used to grab the material and pull from the tranformer.

AIT Rents Robotic Pipe Camera To Inspect Underground Pipe At Nuclear Power Plant

Advanced Inspection Technologies recently rented a ROVVER pipe inspection camera to inspect underground pipes lines at a nuclear power plant. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has recommended that inspection be done of underground piping systems at nuclear power plants. Underground piping systems are essential for the safe operation of nuclear power plants. Nuclear power plants need to inspect and provide information about the condition of their underground piping systems. In response to leaks, the nuclear power industry has implemented two voluntary initiatives to increase public confidence in plant safety. The first initiative was intended to improve on-site groundwater monitoring to promptly detect leaks. AIT Rents A Video Borescope To Inspect Fuel Nozzles Covers

Advanced Inspection Technologies just completed a video borescope rental with a customer that needed to inspect several fuel nozzle covers they manufacture. Fuel nozzle covers have several chanels and piped ourlet that require unobstructed flow. The passageways need to be free of any debris following milling. Typically, fuel nozzle cover manufacturers will wash and rinse the interior passageways to remove any foreign debris that may have accumulated. A video borescope rental allows remote viewing of these interior passages to check for any shavings or burrs. Fiberscope Rental Inspects Inside A Gas Turbine

AIT has successfully rented a small diameter fiberscope for the inspection of inside gas turbine components. The customer is one of the largest and well know manufacturers of turbines world wide and need a method to visually inspect an area where their existing video borescope could not fit. AIT Rents Videoscope To Inspect Industrial Ice Machine

AIT recently rented a videoscope to inspect the inside of an industrial ice machine. The machine had broken down and the ice manufacturer need to identify the problem to take preventative measures with other machines. A 3 meter (10 ft) long videoscope was used to snake down the piping and discovered a large tear in the side wall. Borescope Rental Inspects Heat Exchanger

Advanced inspection Technologies just completed a borescope rental with a well known manufacturer in the nuclear power industry for inspection of heat echanger tubes. AIT was contacted to provide a borescope that was small enough to fit inside a 1/2 inch diameter heat exchanger tube. Borescope Rental Inspects Structural Columns

Advanced Inspection Technologies rented a videoscope for this inspection of pre-cast structural columns. The columns had potential defects that would cause structural deficiencies. The contractor was responsible for inspecting or replacing the columns for a large elevated parking garage. This year, SpaceX's Dragon will become the first privately developed spacecraft to visit the International Space Station. AIT borescope rental service is proud to have assisted with the effort.

AIT Borescope Rental Inspects Owl Nests

The Burrowing Owl, a California Species of Special Concern isn’t your average owl: it doesn’t live in trees, and it’s not nocturnal. It makes its nest underground — usually in abandoned rodent burrows — and is active both day and night. But human population explosion has reduced the charismatic western burrowing owl’s breeding populations by more than 60 percent, presumably in response to loss of habitat to urban development, ground squirrel control efforts, and intensive agriculture practices. In California a pipe line is proposed to be constructed and would go through an area that is inhabited by the California burrowing owl. In order for the pipe line project to be built the owls that inhabit the area will need to be relocated. The owls can only be relocated if it is proven that they are not currently nesting with eggs waiting to hatch. In order to determine the nesting situation of the owls it was determined that a borescope could be inserted into the nests and visually view the condition of the nest. If no eggs were detected using the borescope then the owls could be recollected and the pipe line project could continue. AIT Borescope Rental Inspects Civil Rights Memorial

Recently, Advanced inspection Technologies (AIT) was pleased to be involved with restoration work of the Civil Rights Memorial in Montgomery, AL. AIT provided a flexible video borescope rental to inspect the interior plumbing of the memorial. Engineers rented the video borescope from AIT to snake through a pipe that normally delivers water to the memorial to conduct a remote visual inspection. 
Engineers used the video borescope rental equipment to navigate and the length of the pipe 
and check the interior condition. The video borescope they rented from AIT to inspect the civil rights memorial was able to easily navigate the pipe line and help engineers determine that the interior condition was good. Without the assistance of AIT’s video borescope rentals there would of been no way to inspect the interior condition of the memorial without tear down of the structure. The Civil Rights Memorial honors the achievements and memory of those who lost their lives during the Civil Rights Movement, in the United States. Created by Vietnam Veterans Memorial designer Maya Lin. the striking black granite memorial is located across the street from the Southern Poverty Law Center’s office building in Montgomery, Alabama. The Memorial is just around the corner from the church where Dr. King served as pastor during the Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1955-1956, and the capitol steps where the Selma-to-Montgomery voting rights march ended in 1965. The circular fountain provides a timeline of important events in the civil rights movement, beginning in 1954 with the Supreme Court decision to integrate American schools (Brown vs. the Board of Education) and ending with Dr. King’s murder in 1968. It also records the names of 40 men, women, and children who lost their lives working for social justice. A thin pool of water flows over this circular table. Pipe cameras rentals seemed to be in need as 2010 started off with a bang for Advanced Inspection Technologies. Pipe camera rentals in Indiana and Nevada were requested by industrial customers conducting inspections to return their plants back to operation. A food processing plant in Indiana needed to inspect floor drains for contamination. A large pharmacuetical manufacturer based in Indiana also requested a pipe camera to inspect processing piping. In Nevada, a power generation plant requested assistance from AIT to inspect electrical conduit. AIT was able to next day the equipment to all customers and make their plant turn arounds that much quicker.

Borescope Rental Finds lost Wedding Ring and Saves a Marriage.

The groom to be was showing the wedding ring off to his friends at work the day before the wedding when it slipped from his grasp and fell down an industrial drain. The drain was about a 10 foot vertical drop before it turned sharply horizontal. The groom to be had no idea how far the ring had traveled or how it could be retrieved. Some one suggested a borescope rental to locate the ring. That was when Advanced Inspection Technologies received a very panicky phone call. The groom was able to navigate the video borescope rental equipment to find the ring. Once the groom located the lost ring he used a foreign object retrieval tool to pluck the ring from its resting spot. The wedding went off without incident. To determine the most appropriate length borescope rental you need for your inspection is a fairly simple process. 1. Determine what the distance the working length of the borescope rental will need to travel to reach the target inspection area. 2. Consider the access area and keep in mind any external components that will keep the borescope at a distance from the inspection access. 3. Our borescope rental equipment has been used for many familiar applications such as inspection of turbines, industrial pipe lines, Boilers and other industrial machinery.
